Pulau Tioman, Pahang — 12 January 2020 — EDM Global Tech Sdn Bhd successfully delivered and commissioned a real-time Meteorological and Hydrographic (Met/Hydro) Monitoring Station in Tioman, supporting enhanced maritime safety, environmental monitoring, and operational decision-making for coastal and marine activities.
As part of its standard system deliveries, EDM Global Tech provides integrated real-time Met/Hydro solutions for docks, ports, harbours, fairways, marine terminals, and offshore installations. Acting as the system integrator, EDM Global Tech is responsible for the full integration of sensors, data loggers, communication systems, and software platforms into a unified operational monitoring solution.
The installed Met/Hydro system is designed to measure and monitor key environmental parameters, including:
-
Wind speed and direction
-
Atmospheric pressure
-
Visibility
-
Sea and air temperature
-
Sea currents
-
Wave conditions
-
Tidal levels
All sensor data are collected in real time and transmitted to central servers, where they can be distributed, visualised, and integrated with other maritime systems based on customer operational requirements. This flexible data architecture enables authorities and operators to support navigational safety, optimise port and marine operations, and enhance environmental situational awareness.
The Tioman MetHydro Station forms part of EDM Global Tech’s ongoing commitment to delivering reliable, scalable, and high-accuracy marine monitoring infrastructure, supporting Malaysia’s coastal safety, tourism, offshore activities, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
