EDM at MarineHack 2025 Finals — A New Wave of Malaysian Maritime Innovation

Labuan, Malaysia — 16 November 2025 — MarineHack 2025 Finals in Labuan was more than just a competition. It was a powerful showcase of what can happen when passion, purpose, and opportunity come together, and EDM Global Tech Sdn Bhd is proud to have been part of this journey as both sponsor and mentor.

From over 130 students across Malaysia, 36 outstanding finalists gathered at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Labuan International Campus, united by creativity, courage, and a shared commitment to shaping the future of the maritime industry. What stood out was not just the quality of the prototypes and presentations, but the determination of young Malaysians who dared to challenge real-world maritime problems and work hard to solve them.

Over the two-day finals, all eight finalist teams demonstrated that local ideas can compete at global standards, especially when supported by strong industry–academia collaboration.

EDM Global Tech was honoured to contribute by providing technical mentoring and industry guidance, sharing real operational perspectives in areas such as maritime safety, digital platforms, data integration, and sustainable maritime solutions. Through mentoring sessions, EDM aimed to help teams refine their ideas into solutions that are not only innovative, but also practical, scalable, and aligned with real industry needs.
