Shah Alam, Selangor — 11 November 2020 — Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) officially commenced for the Malaysia Lighthouses Upgrade Project, marking a key milestone before the deployment of upgraded navigation equipment at lighthouse sites nationwide.
The FAT is being conducted at the Greenfinder factory in Shah Alam, with participation from EDM Global Tech Sdn Bhd and officers from the Malaysia Marine Department (Jabatan Laut Malaysia, JLM). The session involves comprehensive inspection and functional testing of all assembled systems and components to verify compliance with technical specifications, performance requirements, and quality standards prior to shipment and on-site installation.
FAT is a critical stage of the project lifecycle, ensuring that all equipment is fully tested, properly configured, and ready for operational deployment. This process significantly reduces installation risks and ensures smooth commissioning at lighthouse locations.
The Malaysia Lighthouses Upgrade Project will deliver substantial improvements to JLM’s operational capability in providing Safety of Navigation (SoN) services in Malaysian waters, supporting safer maritime traffic management, improved reliability of Aids to Navigation (AtoN), and enhanced resilience of critical coastal infrastructure.
EDM Global Tech remains committed to supporting JLM through the delivery of high-quality, standards-compliant, and mission-ready maritime navigation systems, contributing to safer and more efficient maritime operations nationwide.
