Bukit Segenting, Johor — 1 December 2020 — EDM Global Tech Sdn Bhd has successfully completed the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for the delivery of a high-powered LED lighthouse lighting solution, fully interfaced with the Greenfinder AIS-based Remote Monitoring System, for the Malaysia Marine Department (Jabatan Laut Malaysia, JLM).
The SAT, conducted last week, confirms that the newly installed Greenfinder MK2000 Rotating Beacon at Bukit Segenting Lighthouse, Johor, is now fully operational and performing in accordance with project specifications and international Aids to Navigation (AtoN) standards.
The upgraded lighting system significantly enhances the visibility and reliability of the lighthouse, while the integration with the AIS-based remote monitoring platform enables real-time status reporting, fault detection, and maintenance planning. This supports improved operational readiness and faster response times in the event of system anomalies.
This successful SAT marks another important milestone in Malaysia’s lighthouse modernisation programme, strengthening JLM’s capability to deliver Safety of Navigation (SoN) services and ensuring safer passage for vessels transiting Malaysian waters.
EDM Global Tech remains committed to supporting the Malaysia Marine Department through the delivery of advanced, reliable, and digitally integrated AtoN solutions, contributing to a safer and more resilient maritime infrastructure nationwide.
